Andorra is a small landlocked country in Western Europe, located in the estearn Pyrenees mountains and bordered by Spain and France. Its capital is Andorra La Vella. It is currently a prosperous country mainly because of tourism and its status as a tax haven. The people of Andorra are currently listed as having the highest human life expectancy in the world, at an average of 85 years at birth.
Due to its location in the eastern Pyrenees mountain range, Andorra consists predominantly of rugged mountains with the highest being the Coma Pedrosa. Andorra’s climate is similar to that of it’s neighbors’ temperate climates, but its higher altitude means there is, on average, more snow in winter and it is slightly cooler in summer.
Andorrans, who are mainly Catalans – people from Catalonia (an Autonomous Community in Spain), are a minority in their own country; Spaniards, Portuguese, French, Britons, and Italians make up 67.7% of Andorran population.
Andorra rarely joins beauty pageant. Their first entry in the Big 4 pageant was last 2003 when Maria Jose Girol Jimenez participated in Miss World.
The lady went unplaced in the pageant won by a fellow European – Rosanna Davison of Ireland. No known reason why they stopped participating in the pageant – a fave pageant of European – and didn’t participate at all in MU, MI, or ME.
I am a big fan of European beauties – theirs are just classic. I am waiting for that day when they will be active in the beauty pageant scene again.
