Bahamas witnessed one of the historic moments in Miss Universe history when the very first back to back win of a single country happened during Miss Universe 2009. In 57 years of Miss Universe, no reigning queen crowned a successor from her native country. The 58th Miss Universe edition was no different, at least most of the fans were thinking!

Then the unimaginable happened when the Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela crowned Stefania Fernandez also from Venezuela. This sealed, for me, the powerhouse status of Venezuela and proved to everyone their dominance! Will this happen again?
