As I bid Binibining Pilipinas 2016 goodbye after last Sunday’s grand finale, I warmly welcome the start of Miss Philippines Earth 2016. This is the search for the next Filipina Earth warrior, who will compete for the Miss Earth 2016 title and hope to succeed our very own, Angelia Ong.

I am pretty sure that the list will be updated since the pageant has not officially started yet but, we have a lot of confirmed delegates already and I am listing them here. Welcoming the following ladies from Northern & Southern Luzon into the competition:

Liza Cacho (Anda, Pangasinan)

Chissan Rae Balderas (Infanta, Pangasinan)

Loren Mar Artajos (Laoag City)

Shannon Rebecca Bridgman (Rosales, Pangasinan)

Korina Christiene Reyes (City of San Fernando)

Maybelle Pameroyan (Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan)

Carlette Marjean Agapito (Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija)

Jovine Martin (Tuguegarao City)

Kamille Alyssa Quinola (Vigan City)

Trivia: Eva Reinoso participated in Miss Philippines Earth 2013 representing Caloocan City. She was unplaced. Will it be sweeter the second time around for Eva?

The Delegates from Southern Luzon

Princess Cecilio (Daet, Camarines Norte)

Krissandra Marie Abel (Lobo, Batangas)

Kattline Joy Eranes (Looc, Romblon)

Rachelle Quinonez (Lubang, Occidental Mindoro)

Andrea Delgado (Naga City)

Kisszel Malazarte (Pililla, Rizal)

Imelda Schweighart (Puerto Princesa City)

Karen Claudene Barot (San Jose, Occidental Mindoro)

Athena Mari Catriz (City of San Pedro)

Riji Anne Canog (City of Santa Rosa)

Trivia: Imelda Schweighart competed in Binibining Pilipinas 2013 and placed as a semifinalist. We have seen a couple of former Binibinis who crossed-over to Miss Philippines Earth and became successful. Our reigning Miss Earth is a perfect example. So, will Imelda be another BBP-MPE cross-over success story?
