Miss Universe Organization announced that Las Vegas will be the host city for Miss Universe 2017. To celebrate this announcement, let me list down some quick facts connection between Miss Universe and the Entertainment Capital of the World.

  1. This is the 6th time that Las Vegas will stage Miss Universe. The city hosted the pageant in 1991, 1996, 2010, 2012 and 2015.
  2. Two of the biggest event venues hosted the glitzy finale – The AXIS at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino (1991, 1996, 2012 & 2015) and The Mandalay Bay Events Center at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino (2010).
  3. Mexico won its two Miss Universe crowns in Las Vegas (1991 & 2010). It also placed in 1996 (Top 6), 2012 (Top 10) and 2015 (Top 15). No other country placed in all 5 Las Vegas editions. Will Mexico continue its streak in Vegas this year?
  4. Venezuela & USA – two of the pageant powerhouse in the world – each added one Miss Universe crown in Las Vegas (1996 for Venezuela & 2012 for USA). Both also placed in every Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas except 2010 when both did not place. Will these two continue to dominate in Vegas?
  5. Philippines won its most coveted third Miss Universe crown in Las Vegas in 2015. It placed consecutively since 2010 when Venus Raj ended the country’s loosing streak that lasted for 10 years. After peaking with Pia Wurtzbach‘s win, will Philippines continue its winning placement?

This is exciting ❤
