Miss Universe 2017 (17th Update): My Favorite National Costumes in HD

Last weekend, Miss Universe 2017 staged the National Costume Competition. All candidates were asked to bring an outfit that will best represent their native country. Being staged year after year, the process of deciding the national costume gets challenging every year. Even my preference has drastically changed already. Though I still love the huge costumes which will rival the VS wings, I also prefer those costumes that has cultural significance and those which celebrates the craftmanship behind it. Here are my favorite costumes for this year:

Miss Universe 2017 (16th Update): The Magic Number is 4!

The rumors are true! Miss Universe 2017 is implementing something different with its pageant finale format. This year, Miss Universe is bringing back the Top 16 semifinalists – from Top 13 in 2016 and Top 15 in 2015 and 2014. Miss Universe Organization dropped another shocker by announcing that the Top 16 will be coming from specific geographical groups. The 16 ladies will be selected from – Americas (4 semifinalists), Europe (4 semifinalists), Africa & Asia (4 semifinalists) and 4 semifinalists considered as wildcard who will be selected from all geographical groups.

This is extra painful for me. Looking at my initial list of favorites, it seems that Asia and Americas will be dominating with a lot of strong delegates. This format is very limiting. If the goal is to reach untapped markets such as the European counries, this format will not help.

Initially, I was thinking that MUO will not announce the groupings to add an element of surprise. However, it seems that they are not. The groupings will be observed even during the special video that will serve is as the opening.

If there is a consolation to what will happen, I am pleased to share that MUO will allow all semifinalists to walk individually during the swimsuit and evening gown competition. Last year’s format of having the semifinalists walk in a group of threes did not sit well with fans.

Are you excited with this format or not?!?

Miss Intercontinental 2017 (2nd Update): From Sri Lanka to Egypt, From December 2017 to January 2018

The candidates of Miss Intercontinental 2017 will have more time for a longer pageant preparation. Just this week, the management announced the changes to the pageant. The pageant finale was moved from December 21, 2017 to January 25, 2018. This means that there will be less Holiday parties for our dear candidates.

From Sri Lanka as the host country, the pageant will also now be staged in Egypt. Hosting the pageant is Sunrise Grand Select Crystal Bay Resort in Hurghada.

What is the biggest question on my mind now is the reason behind these changes. The Facebook announcement did not offer any. Stay tuned for more Miss Intercontinental 2017 updates here!

Katarina Rodriguez is ready for Miss Intercontinental 2017. She is well on the end of her preparation before she leaves for Sri Lanka. Just recently, she changed the color of her hair. I just had to post this as I feel that her new hair color complemented the softness of her facial feature. She is beautiful!

Miss Universe 2017 (15th Update): Is this the Gown of Rachel Peters for the Finale?!?

Rachel Peters posted this on her Instagram account…

Is Rachel referring to this “leaked” photo of a potential finale gown?!?

Whether this is the finale gown or not, I have to agree with Rachel on two things: (1) We should be extra careful on who to trust and (2) it is not the element of surprise, it is on your confidence while parading the gown on the finale!
